Naturally Relieving Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Fibromyalgia, Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue, Always Tired, Tired, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, CFSChronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a complex disorder that is debilitating to those suffering from it. While most people can get a good night’s rest to recover from feeling exhausted. For those with CFS, this simply does not work. No matter how much rest they get or how well they sleep, they still awaken feeling totally drained.

How is chronic fatigue diagnosed? A person must be experiencing at least four of the following:

  • Sore throat
  • Headaches that were previously not present
  • Joint and/or muscle pain
  • Problems with memory and/or focus
  • Extreme fatigue after physical or emotional exertion
  • Lymph nodes that are tender
  • Feeling exhausted even after a good night’s rest

Medication often just covers symptoms of the problem. It is important to get to the root cause of chronic fatigue to alleviate some of the symptoms. Many times this lies in the neck, just below the head. The C1 and C2 vertebrae are susceptible to misalignments because of their range of motion. A simple trip and fall or hit to the head can cause them to misalign. How is this related to CFS?

The brainstem and spinal cord are the information highway to and from the brain and body. They connect where the C1 and C2 reside. In fact, they are protected by these bones. Therefore, a misalignment here can put undue pressure on the brainstem, in turn, affecting the central nervous system. If the brain and body are not communicating properly, a number of problems can ensue, such as chronic fatigue.

We work with our patients to find these misalignments and correct them. We use a gentle technique, called NUCCA, that does not require twisting or popping the spine. Rather it allows the body to realign itself and begin healing by natural means. Once communication is restored, many patients report seeing an increase in gaining rest and a decrease in other symptoms listed above. A healthy spine leads to a healthier, happier person!
